    prints galore!

My mouth gaped; my jaw dropped; my heart stopped.

    Alexander McQueen -- Pre-Fall 2010 Collection
I post this collection with a heavy heart. It's difficult to see someone with such brilliance bursting at the seams gone in just a mere moment.
However, I was pleased to see that Sarah Burton, who was appointed Creative Director of Alexander McQueen, had not failed to encapsulate the exceptional vision he had.

How magnificent is this collection? The prints, the exotic-extraterrestrial element to it all.
If this is what aliens wear, sign me up.

Timeless: Kate Moss and Beverly Hills

Hello! Delilah here posting a spread that I've just completely fell in love with. It's Kate Moss channeling a soft nostalgic Beverly Hills look in a spread for Glamour France in June 1992.The spread was photographed by Lance Straedler.

Photo Credits: Nasty Gal Vintage Blog

It's sooo pretty. The soft palette of baby blue, pink, and orange. The vintage Beverly Hills atmosphere. Youthful (note the teddy bear!) and playful (in the dinner with her Coke float) Kate Moss with her messy hair in princess-y knee length party dresses. What's there to not love about this shoot? Here come by favorite picture in the spread...

What does this remind you of? For me, it's very Miss Dior Cherie. No? Except the Miss Dior Cherie ad is more dreamy and it's set in Paris. But there's something special about Kate and her very baroque dress. It's as if she plucked the curtains off Versailles and turned it into the cutest party dress ever. And decided to go to a party with pink balloons that matched her dress. Isn't that absolutely dreamy?

    Ah, just lovely. :)

    pre-fall picks!

Jeisa here! [after what seems like a year and a half] Things have been pretty busy, much busier than I would have ever expected. Anyways, with a new layout and a fresh new semester underway, I decided it would be a good time to post about pre-fall fashion!

Fall remains as my favorite season. Not only is it where my birthday month happens to fall into, I love the perfect  cool weather, gorgeous golden brown leaves littered across the pavement and you get the best of both worlds when it comes to fashion and style, throwing on summer cut-offs, light scarf and a blazer and you're good to go.

    CHRISTIAN DIOR

It was so difficult picking a few key pieces that I liked because I basically wanted each and every piece. John Galliano does it again; incorporating one of the key trends this fall: military aviator with pure 1930s chic. I feel like I've been whipped back into time and falling in love with history's best.

    YVES SAINT LAURENT

Having been a big fan of YSL shoes and bags, I was pleased to see that their collection impressed me just as equally. The Upper-East-Side chic factor to the clothes is enough to make you swoon. Positively timeless and classic.

    VALENTINO

One of my favorite collections by far. Everything that the name Valentino encompasses and more. Feminine, chic and pure iconic beauty. The take on the classic red Valentino dresses were fresh and modern, yet the other pieces in the collection still retained the same classic Valentino touch that we've all grown to love.

    BURBERRY PRORSUM

Leave it to Burberry Prorsum to come up with a collection that's uber-stylish yet wearable. The military-esque theme returns in this collection as well but in a more vulnerable and softer manner. This truly is a collection that every woman needs in her closet this fall.

    CHANEL

Karl Lagerfeld is a genius. [as usual] I'm pretty sure Delilah is nodding in crazy agreement over this (she is pretty much Karl Lagerfeld's biggest fan). I'll say it over and over again: he can do no wrong. Oriental infusion with classic Chanel. What more could you really ask for? Intricately embroided fabrics, flowing black chiffon and statement pieces. Pure love.

That's it from me for now! Leave a comment and tell me which Pre-Fall collection you're rooting for.

    With love,
    Jeisa

I spy Black & White in Versace

After a month long hiatus, I'm back! I'm really quite ashamed of being away so long. Family vacation, friends coming into town, plus two weeks of interning, there goes my summer vacation. Nontheless, I promise not to disapoint because I've got some pretty good stuff lined up for VanillaChymes. I'm going to start off with the new Versace ad campaign for Fall/Winter 2010. It's eye candy that literally caught my attention the moment I saw it two days ago on frillr.com.

Seriously, I don't remember Versace as so cool. I remember Donatella's pink, light green, yellow, turquoise flowy floor length chiffon gowns. But I don't remember sleek black or white long sleeve mini dresses or floor length gowns with cut-outs on them! And there's a blazer in there too! Extra marks for Versace this season. Too cool for words, really.

Versace seems to be trying to say that this season, F/W 2010, won't need the studs or skulls. All you need is solid black or white dresses. Cut em' up and make sure they're fitted. Shoulder length hair and black eyeliner. Ooooh and a best pal by your side :) and TADA you'll look as if you walked right off the ad campaign of Versace F/W2010.

Thank you Style-Tips.com for the pictures.
    All for now, Delilah

    Time for Tee

Summer's kicking in and it's time to pull out all those t-shirts from the bottom on the closet. I'm currently in Shanghai and while packing, I had to clean out everything in my closet. I realized the usual "Wow, I have a lot more clothes than I thought I had" or "Oops! I forgot about this." But there's one item that I never forget about - my t-shirts! I'm a sucker for cute t-shirts. When I first walked into the David and Goliath store in London, I was like "Omg, I have to have ALL of these" (of course I did not buy them all, but I didn't leave without one at hand!).  Then there's also my "Save the environment" t-shirts I bought on a trip to Spain two years ago. Basically, t-shirts will never leave my closet. However, there is one exception: school t-shirts. The kind that you get from school or activities you join, where size S still looks like it could fit my brother and has no waistline what-so-ever. Those are usually in the back of my closet, waiting for me to wear them as pajamas. To tell the truth, I dread getting those. They fill up the back of my closet and I really won't wear them unless it's an obligation.

Nonetheless, I love t-shirts. So since summer's here and I'm already seeing a few lines of t-shirts that I'm getting excited over (and considering bothering everyone I know outside of Asia to bring them back for me), here's a little insight on t-shirts I absolutely adore.

    Danny Roberts Girls in Glasses
I don't know where to start with Danny Roberts. He's amaaaaaazing. This is the tshirt he launched on his website. It's been out for a while. But it's so nice. Simple and chic. Match it with a pair of jeans or shorts, a pair of wedges, and a bunch of bracelets and you're ready to go.

    Danny Roberts for Forever 21
Danny Roberts is definitely a favorite. In addition to the t-shirt available on his website, he's also recently launched a collection with Forever 21 of his Blogger portraits. There are both t-shirts and tanks, for a very well spent fifteen dollars each. I'd run to Forever 21 if there was one in Asia but I'm seriously considering asking my friends in Canada and the States to bring on back for me.

    5preview
I never knew much about the 5preview t-shirts until my aunt (who dresses in a very cool way) told me about it. She bought a necklace with the melting Chanel logo pendant on it and added rhinestones on it herself. She then told me about 5preview with the melting Chanel logo on it and I was hooked. Not till recently did 5 preview launch the Paris and Y5L t-shirts in Black and White (I prefer White, but Black's not bad either). However, 60 euros for a t-shirt is going kinda steep into my wallet...
So tada! I found my option for a 5preview t-shirt on the outlet site. I'm really looking into the maroon post-modern one. It's only 25 euros and I don't mind a little color. Y5L is really too cool to resist. I've waited a little too long though. There's only medium left and I'm a freak for extra small. But a loss fit actually wouldn't hurt. The only problem now is my very-packed closet. Nonetheless, enjoy!

    Karl Who?

Then there's always Karl Who? by Naco Paris. Seriously, I have no idea how to get one but it'd be awesome to own one. There is no way a fashion person can let this goooo.

Anyways, all for now! It's pretty hard to get blogpsot in China, so I'll update when I'm back in Hong Kong.
